Escaping town for a day

A few weeks ago, Greg and I decided to find a Bed & Breakfast and get out of town for a night. We both had over a week off together! If you know our schedule, we work a lot of weekends right now, and we had this particular weekend off. Since we were leaving for one night, we wanted to go somewhere relatively close. I decided on Granbury (about an hour southwest of Ft. Worth), a cute and quaint town. We chose a cute little place called The Pomegranate House. Instead of rooms inside a house, they have cute little one bedroom, one bath cottages! Best of all? They allowed pets 🙂 So we didn’t have to find a pet-sitter for the day! Our little Liz could come with us. She loves road trips anyways so it was a treat for her! Allow me to give you a re-cap of our experience in pictures…

Pomegranate House
This is the main house which we pulled up to. The cottages were all in the back. Best thing about the owners? The husband is a baker so he sets out desserts AND dog treats for visitors to snack on. He had fresh chocolate chip cookies waiting when we pulled up. So let’s move to our cottage..

Here is our cottage from the distance. We stayed in “Royal Oak.” The courtyard area in front of it had a cute fountain, wooden swing set, and cute set up.

Here is the front of our cottage! We had a small patio in the front with some wicker furniture. So glad the weather was nice that day!

Here are some pictures of the inside..

This was one of the cutest doors. You could tell it was previously a front door. On the back was a bell and everything. So fun!

That mirror was gorgeous!! Oh and “Hi” from behind the camera! 🙂

So after we were settled in, we found a park and took a long walk.

Then grabbed some food by a cute place called “Stumpy’s” which was by Lake Granbury.

The next morning we enjoyed breakfast with the 2 other couples there, discussed life, and enjoyed some amazing food!

We ventured back home a little bit later; relaxed and excited to spend the next few days together. It was a wonderful weekend together, and of course with Liz. A little couple time away from home is always great!
